ABOUT
An exploration of the consciousness of a person living behind the bars. The film uses inmate’s monologues in order to show prison through the lens of the incarcerated, revealing to the viewer a hypnotizing and oneiric vision. The filmmaker avoids a gruesome or moralistic approach and focuses on the person and his most prized possessions - his dreams and reality.
DIRECTOR
LYDIA RICKER
Visual media artist and film director. Graduated from the South Ural State University in Chelyabinsk with a degree in psychology in 2005. From 2018 to 2021 studied at the St. Petersburg New Cinema School, Experimental Film Laboratory. Her films Chestnut, Tuonela Swan (shot in collaboration with Alexey Serebryakov), Angry Citizen, Dolls became participants and winners of many Russian and foreign film and experimental festivals. Released the project Long-Term Relationship (performance, photogram, video) in collaboration with Andreev Twins was a part of the exhibition project ‘Impulse’ of Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Centre.
