ABOUT
A deceased mother is not dead; she lives in the blowing wind, in the rising tide of a full moon night. To say goodbye to her late mother, Isabel talks to her about her life. This mother-daughter relationship transcends space and time, highlighting the struggles of black womanhood in Portugal.

CYRIELLE RAINGOU
Cyrielle Raingou is a Cameroonian filmmaker passionate about African cultural identity, its promotion on an international scale and the economic interest it raises. She very often uses legends, metaphor, the symbolism of animals to unearth the complexity and mystery within human. She just completed her first feature length documentary Le Spectre de Boko Haram, focused on the life in a war zone from children perspective. She holds master’s degrees in law and in documentary film directing. Cyrielle has directed short films such as Challenge (2017) selected in many international film festivals, Neighbors presented in Short Film Corner section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Requiem Prologue (2019), premiered at Luxor African Film Festival 2019, The Lamb (2020), premiered at Docudays UA, Parallèle (2021), Mother Just a Smile (2022), and Le Spectre de Boko Haram (2023). Mother Just a Smile and Le Spectre de Boko Haram had their world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023, where Le Spectre de Boko Haram won the Tiger award.
