THE WEIGHT OF STILLNESS

In a carpentry workshop, Lorenzo restores the corpse of an old wooden chair. On the other side of the city, the silence of the cemetery is interrupted by the buzz of a beehive, which lives inside a vault. Miguel, the gravedigger, discovers the work of the bees and exhumes the last breath of life.

MANUEL OJEDA

Graduated in the specialty of Photography at the University of the Arts, Havana 2021. Graduated in the specialty of Painting and Drawing from the Academy of Arts, Camagüey 2008. As a plastic artist he has made two personal exhibitions Estados de Asfixia and La Bonfire. His most recent short documentary El Peso de la Quietud had its Latin American premiere at the Censored Film Festival in Peru and was also part of the Visions du Reel Film Market 2023. He is currently directing and producing the documentary La Presa, winner of the Norwegian fund for the development of Cuban cinema. As Director of Photography, he has worked on the feature film El Bosque Intermitente, and on the documentaries Laziness in Cuba, El Amor de las Cucarachas and Tartessos Dune, among others.
